Tomato onion raita is a simple and refreshing Indian side dish. Curd, tomatoes, onion and some spices are its main ingredients. An easy  recipe and it will be ready with in ten minutes.


    Tomato onion raita or tomato raita is one of the most common and easiest raita made in Indian houses as an accompaniment for biriyanies, pulao etc. I don't think, it need a description. It is very popular in Kerala. Very easy to prepare, just chop some onions, tomatoes and green chilies, mix with curd and salt. If  like, you can add some roasted cumin powder also.

    Fresh tomatoes in spicy and sour sauce

    Preparation time: Five minutes | Cooking time: 0 minutes | Total time: 5 minutes




    Ingredients

    • 1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
    • 1 big tomato, chopped
    • 1 green chili, chopped finely
    • 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 cup curd
    • a pinch roasted cumin powder (optional)

    1. Take chopped onion, tomato, coriander leaves and green chilies in a bowl. Chop them as thinly as you can. 
    2. Add curd (beat with a hand whisk or fork before use)
      and salt.
    3. Mix well.
    4. Garnish with cumin or chili powder.
