Home Made Milk Chocolate recipe

Home made milk chocolate with detailed photos and video: Milk chocolate made with cocoa and milk powder

Chocolate is our all time favorite sweet and of course we share this in almost all happy occasions. Why don't we make it at home, it takes hardly half an hour and also we can do so many experiments with it. I am making this chocolate for more than one year and after so many trials and errors I got it perfect.

Only a very few ingredients are used in its preparation and all of them will be easily available in your nearby supermarkets. Today of course I am sharing the milk chocolate recipe only because I love milk chocolate than dark chocolate because of its flavour and texture. Whenever I make this, my kids grab within no time and I never get time to take pictures. Finally, I manage to take its photo while they were in school. Also, I share this beautiful recipe to all my readers and their kids. This is my first post of the new year and I think it is better to start 2020 with a sweet. Finally, here is the recipe, please go through it and try at home. Wishing you all a happy and prosperous new year ahead.

While making the chocolate, make sure that the sugar syrup has come to one thread consistency and the mixture is smooth and thick. If you feel any difficulty while mixing, do add one tablespoon of hot water to it and mix again. If your mix turn loose, then the chocolate won't set, so try to make a thick smooth batter. Also, if put all the flour at one stretch into the sugar syrup, it will be difficult to mix. So better to mix the whole powder in three to four separate sections. Try to measure all the ingredients using standard measuring cups and spoons to get the same taste and texture.

    1. To start with, sieve cocoa powder and milk powder through a sifter and  remove any big pieces or impurities. This will also help to distribute the content evenly all over. Then keep aside.
    2. Next, we will make the sugar syrup. Take sugar and water in a thick bottomed pan on medium high flame till it melts.
    3. Then reduce the flame to low and cook till it slightly thickens and comes to a half thread consistency.  To check the sugar syrup, apply a small amount of syrup in your thumb finger and forefinger. Slightly press and then gently separate, if a small thread of sugar syrup is formed, this is the one thread consistency. It will break when pull apart.
    4. Switch off the flame and put butter in it, then mix with a spoon till melted.
    5. Put one teaspoon vanilla extract.
    6. The remaining cooking process will follow the double boiling method. Place the pan or bowl with sugar syrup on top of a pan with boiling water. The bowl should not touch the water below.  Also put the sifted cocoa- milk mixture in but in three equal batches. Each time mix with a spoon till the batter turns smooth, lump free and glossy.
    7. Finally, you will get a thick and smooth and glossy batter. If you feel any difficulty at this stage, you can put one teaspoon of hot water in.
    8. Take the chocolate moulds and scoop and fill each moulds. Gently press with the back of the spoon and tap slightly so that no air bubbles trapped in between. Wait till the chocolate comes to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 15 to 20 minutes till it sets.
    9. Then demoulding, take out the chocolates carefully.
    10. Once again wishing you all a very happy and prosperous new year. Try this version of homemade chocolates and enjoy.
    Happy cooking
