Easy Chocolate Cupcake recipe for beginners



Chocolate cup cake recipe - Moist and spongy cupcakes in chocolate flavour

After my last post on the things need to start baking, I was planning to share this beautiful cupcake recipe here. This is one of the easiest cake recipe that anybody can make.  Very simple techniques and ingredients and of course ideal recipe for beginners. I am also sharing one video in Malayalam with English subtitles in which I have explained the basics in details.

A few words about the recipe,

  • In this easy and tasty chocolate cake recipe I have used powdered sugar in order to get a smooth and silky batter in minutes. Please do not replace it with castor sugar or table sugar, you will feel difficulty while mixing. 
  • Do not put too much salt, add only a pinch to get the taste balanced, otherwise it will overpower the entire taste.
  • Sieve the ingredients before adding the wet ingredients.
  • The egg eye should be removed carefully, in the beginning, you may feel it a little bit difficult, but do remember to remove that.


Only a few things to remember

  1. Measurements should be accurate, use standard measuring cups and spoons.
  2. Use quality ingredients.
  3. Make sure the ingredients are within the expiring period.
  4. All the ingredients should be at room temperature.
  5. Oven doors should not open while baking. Also make sure that the oven doors are closed completely.

Soft and moist cupcake 

Preparation time: 10 minutes | Cooking time: 15 minutes | Total time: 25 minutes

Ingredients


  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour / maida
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • a pinch of salt

Direction of preparation of chocolate cupcakes


  1. Seive all the dry ingredients (maida, cocoa powder, salt and sugar ) through a swifter into the bowl, in which you are planning to make batter. Take any deep and wide bowl for this purpose.
     
  2. Then, remove the big pieces like unground sugar pieces, maida etc.
  3. Mix well and make a well in the center.
  4. Then add oil and milk at room temperature, any type of flavourless vegetable oil can be used, here I used sunflower oil which is easily available .
  5. Break eggs in a separate small bowl and make sure the eggs are fresh. Then remove the small thick transparent portion attached to the egg yolks very carefully with a small spoon. This portion is called eye of an egg. Its removal will help to remove the egg smell from your cakes.
  6. Then add eggs in the batter along with 1 tsp vanilla essence, the flavouring agent.
  7. Mix at speed 1 using an electric beater till well combined.
  8. Scrape the sides and bottom with a silicone spatula.
  9. Then beat the mixture at speed 3 for 4 minutes till the batter turn silky and smooth. This step helps to aerate the batter.
  10. Then line the cupcake trays with cupcake liners and pour batter till 3/4 full. Tap gently.
  11. Then bake at 180 degree celsius for 15 -20 minutes.
  12. After 15 minutes, you can check the cupcakes using a knife or toothpick. If it comes out clean that means the cupcake is cooked, otherwise cook again for 5 minutes.
  13. Enjoy.
